If you love surfing, then come to Rincon for a great adventure on the water. Rincon's was blessed with many beaches, all very different since some are along the Atlantic Ocean which are great for surfing and some very calm beaches on the Caribbean side.

The beaches of Rincòn are beautifully framed by palm trees and reefs. The small town of Rincon has been the home to the World Surfing Championship and many visitors from all over the world come to the town of Rincòn to ride the waves or simply enjoy a great day at the beach on a very family friendly atmosphere.

If you like whale watching, you may get lucky during your visit to Rincon, Puerto Rico. During the winter months of January and February humpback whales can be seen from the lighthouse and it is quite a sight.

Quick Rincòn, Puerto Rico Facts:

  • Getting to Rincòn, Puerto Rico: If you are coming from San Juan, it will take you approximately 2 1/2 hours to get to Rincòn, Puerto Rico and the distance from San Juan is approximately 98 miles. From Rt 2, south of Aguadilla, go west on Rt 115, past the town of Aguada. As you come into Rincón. There are two turnoffs: the first to the right will take you right onto Rt 413 will take you to the lighthouse on the north side of Rincòn. If you take the second turnoff onto Rt 413, you will be going through the town and then you will end up looping back north to the lighthouse. On the south of the town on Rt 115, you will also find more tourist services accommodations.
  • Location: Rincòn is located on the west coast of Puerto Rico, now known as Porta del Sol. Rincòn is just west of the pueblos of Añasco and Aguada
  • Land Area: 36 sq km (13.8 sq mi)

  • San Germàn was founded in 1771.

Rincon, Puerto Rico Lighthouse - Faro de RinconThe Rincon Lighthouse is a famous attraction in Rincòn for the scenic vistas of the ocean and of Isla Desecheo. The lighthouse park features a nice gift shop and a snack bar. Many locals, tourists and day visitors come to the lighthouse hoping to get lucky and see a few humpback whales.
