Location: Cabo Rojo is located in most southwestern part of the island, west of San Germàn and south of the city of Mayaguez.

Getting to Cabo Rojo: Go south to Route 100 from Route 2. It is about 112 miles from San Juan, Puerto Rico (capital), and it will normally take you about 2.5 hours to get to Cabo Rojo with normal traffic.

This municipality alone has over 10 beaches all very unique with it's own flavor and appeal. Isla Ratones
In just a short boat ride you can visit this tiny island right off Joyuda, Cabo Rojo. You will have a nice time snorkeling or swimming at the shallow clear water beach. It's kid friendly, has a gazebo and some picnic tables. After having fun at the waters, head back to La Milla de Oro (the gold mile) where you will have the task of choosing where to eat in order to taste and savor the local fresh seafood flavor at one of the many family owned restaurants.
